AAPA reports Aug-2009 traffic highlights for its member airlines
Preliminary figures released today by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) reported that AAPA member airlines carried a total of 11.9 million international passengers in August, 2.9% fewer than in the same month last year. International passenger traffic measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) terms was 5% down on the same month last year, indicating continuing weaker demand for long haul travel. With passenger seating capacity having been reduced by 6.7%, the average international passenger load factor rose 1.5 percentage points to 77.9% for the month.
