Monarch is one of the country's leading low cost carriers and remains the airline of choice for independent tour operators in the UK. The airline, which will this year celebrate its 42nd year of operation, also picked up a host of awards during 2009 year including Best Charter Airline and will be only the second UK airline to take delivery of six new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which are valued at $900 million and are set to revolutionise flying during the next decade.

The continued robust passenger numbers and strong average load factors during 2009 were aided by the launch of eight new scheduled service routes which included Birmingham to Larnaca (Cyprus) and new flights to the Canary Islands including Gran Canaria from Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham and Fuerteventura from Gatwick, Luton, Manchester and Birmingham. Monarch is now the number one scheduled international carrier in Manchester and the number one scheduled carrier to Spain in Birmingham.

For Summer 2010, Monarch will launch new routes to Turkey from London, Manchester and Birmingham serving the key Turkish resorts of Dalaman, Bodrum and Antalya, helping to further boost passenger traffic during the coming year.

In addition to flights, Monarch also now offers a huge range of great value holidays, accommodation options, car hire and travel insurance.
