Lufthansa Group reports Feb-2010 traffic highlights

The following performance figures for the Group in February bear the marks of the pilots' strike at Lufthansa Passenger Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo. On a like-for-like basis (without AUA and bmi), capacity fell by 2.6 per cent compared with last year. Passenger sales declined by 2.3 per cent, so that the load factor rose slightly (+0.3 pp). Lower sales (-2.3%) meant that on short-haul routes the passenger load factor fell by 1.7 percentage points to 61.4 per cent. In all long-haul regions, however, capacity reductions due to the strike and more robust sales resulted in a higher load factor.
